THE PASSOVER STAR?

There was no "Christmas star" - the star in scripture came about 18 months later to guide the Wise men to the HOUSE where Jesus was staying. There were no wise men at the manger - just Shepherds, Joseph, Mary, and the newborn Great Shepherd Jesus. Actually, Matthew 2:11 doesn't mention Joseph being there when the Wisemen did come - only Mary - Joseph may have been out getting food or something else. People like the traditional narrative, but it is not per the Bible and there would be hopeless contradictions in scripture with that man-made scenario - Jesus could not be going to Nazareth and Egypt at the same time. If you follow the Bible and not tradition, there are zero contradictions. Jesus went to Nazareth after being presented in the temple and went to Egypt just after the wise men left the house where they were staying. Remember, Herod killed all the babies TWO YEARS and younger. That makes the wise men's visit likely to have been at Passover where Jesus' parents went every year per the scripture and they would likely have stayed in Bethlehem the place where Joseph was born - probably in a house owned by his extended family. Note that the shepherds did not need a star to guide them - they were told by an angel to go to a manger where a baby would be wrapped in swaddling clothes. That alone told them where Jesus would be - at the place where the sacrifice lambs were kept. The lambs had swaddling clothes wrapped around them to protect them from any spot or blemish until they were sacrificed. How appropriate that the perfect lamb of God was wrapped in the same way! People like to make up stuff whether Santa or having all the characters in one scene regardless of reality.
