I am studying Matthew, and the Lord said to share this with you, so here it is...
The Parable
of the Weeds
24 Jesus told them another parable: “The
kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seed in his field.
The kingdom is like a man
who sowed good seed I the field – good seed now, not containing any mess or
compromised doctrine, or psychology of politics or anything else. Just wait and
see who this seed is!
25 But while everyone was sleeping, his
enemy came and sowed weeds among
the wheat, and went away.
When people were asleep the
enemy sowed weeds. Christians are taken unawares. Satan sowed in garbage
– lies of the prosperity people, the positive thinking people, the
euphemistically named “social justice” folks and all the other mess. He
immediately vamoosed so the people did not realize what he had done – that sneaky
devil!
26 When the wheat sprouted and formed
heads, then the weeds also appeared.
There was a good crop and
weeds as well.
27 “The owner’s servants came to him and
said, ‘Sir, didn’t you sow good seed in your field? Where then did the weeds come from?’
The servants wanted to know
where all the weeds came from.
28 “‘An enemy did this,’ he
replied. “The servants asked him, ‘Do you want us to go and pull them up?’
The owner identified the
enemy and the servants offered to yank out the weeds.
29 “‘No,’ he answered, ‘because while you
are pulling the weeds, you ma uproot the wheat with them. 30 Let both grow
together until the harvest. At that time I
will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it
into my barn.’”
The owner refused the
offer, saying wheat could be pulled up with the weeds. At the time of harvest,
the harvesters will collect the weeds and burn the and then the wheat will
be gathered into the barn. Supports the “one taken and the other
left” and turns the pre-trib rapture idea on its ear.
The Parable
of the Weeds Explained
36 Then he left the crowd and went into the
house. His disciples came to him and said, “Explain to us the parable of the weeds in the
field.”
After Jesus left the crowd,
the disciples asked him what this parable meant.
37 He answered, “The one who sowed the good
seed is the Son of Man.
Jesus sowed good seed – if
was not compromised at all – it was pure and good and holy. Not a
mixture like that people often sow.
38 The field is the world, and the good
seed stands for the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people of the evil one, 39 and
the enemy who sows them is the devil.
The seeds sown are Kingdom
people like us – sanctified by God, telling the truth in the world. The
weeds are Satan’s folks – like the professors are Harvard that calls God’s
people Nazi’s – like the President who wants to corrupt everything, even
going to the bathroom. Like corporations who feed those at the top
while starving those at the bottom. The devil is behind all these folks,
like the MAYHEM fellow in those Allstate Insurance TV ads.
The harvest
is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels.
The harvest occurs when the
age ends, and the angels do the harvesting. We are not called to harvest,
they are, and they know whose names are written in the Book and whose aren’t.
40 “As the weeds are pulled up and burned
in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age.
The weeds will be burned
up, which unfortunately is no longer believed by “reasonable” and
“moderate” and “thinking” evangelicals who think people like me take the
plain literal truths of God too literally.
41 The Son of Man will send out his angels,
and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin
and all who do evil.
The angels will weed out
not only the people who do evil but everything that causes sin – the porn,
the greedy ads, the phony religions, everything that causes sin.
42 They will throw them into the blazing
furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
The evil people and the
works of Satan will all be through into a VERY HOT furnace and there will be
weeping, grinding of teeth, and torment.
43 Then the righteous will shine like the
sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.
The righteous will be left,
shining like the son and reflecting the glory of Jesus. If you can hear
this, you better hear it and live accordingly.
