HATRED IS ALIVE ON THE NET (AND IN THE CHURCH)

So many people are unaware of the catastrophic divisions in our country. They talk political party... They talk political discourse... They talk about the marketplace of ideas.

Yet there are media outlets determined that our country fail. Blind hatred towards the President and other leaders drives everything they do. People sit on AOL message boards and other places to simply pour out raw sewage parading as reasoned opinion. They decry any thoughtful discourse and vote down any opposing point of view.

Is hatred limited to the media and the Internet? Bad as that is, sadly not. Try going to college. Any belief in absolute truth, let alone the God of the Bible will earn you ridicule, and if a professor, probably demotion, firing, or the like. Even churches and Christian colleges are not exempt. Pastors promise not to preach on judgment. They ban the gifts of the Spirit from the service in direct disobedience to the Bible, saying they are more inclusive. Christian College after Christian college has become hostile to the building block of all of scripture - the book of Genesis. Scientists who challenge the fallen construct of evolution are dismissed, even by CHRISTIANS!!!

There is hated among denominations. There is hatred against "those fundamentalists". There is hatred of those who speak in tongues. I heard a tape today talking about "infrared" Christians, equating pentecostals with the "spiritual left". It goes on and on and one wonders if our society will ever come out of this tailspin.

The fact is that most people are deluded and not walking in the truth. Satan is the Father of Lies, and he has many children. Unfortunately, many of those children are in churches and in pulpits. They blindly follow false teachers who slip in quietly and pervert the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, much as homosexuals pervert sex. My friends, follow God with your whole hearts. Ask Jesus Christ to live in you and the Holy Spirit to teach you. Do not succomb to the hatred all around us but speak to the world and pray for the demonic forces loosed all about us to be defeated by the power of Jesus Christ through us! Praise the Lord!
