UNIVERSALISM IS WRONG NO MATTER WHO SAYS IT

Many were shocked that Pope Francis said that Christ died for people of all faiths as well as atheists.  Actually, he was right about that.  Christ died for all.  Whether a person in Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, Bahai, Muslim Catholic, Baptistic, or Protestant, Christ did die to take away their sin.  He even died for Atheists, and there are notable atheists such as C. S. Lewis, Josh McDowell, and Lee Stroebel who have been forgiven of their sin.

Where the Pope REALLY went wrong though was omitting the absolutely critical truth that one must ACCEPT that gift is order for it to be efficatious in any way. People are not involuntarily going to be saved from destruction.  They have to be born again to enter the kingdom of God.  Instead of the central teaching of the Christian church, he emphasized good deeds done by all and that we would all meet there (heaven).  He showed a total ignorance of plain scriptural teaching that is well known by persons without his massive religious education.  It makes one wonder what they teach the religious, and it indicates he does not know the gospel himself.  To wit:

"Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit."

"But as many as received him, to THEM gave he the power to become the sons of God, even to them who believe on his name."

"Broad is the way that leads to destruction, but narrow is the door that leadrs to eternal life."

"For by grace are you saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.  Not of works, lest any man should boast."
